Widewaters Christmas Party

The Widewaters Christmas Party is on Sunday, December 14th 2008.  Santa will ride around the neighborhood in a firetruck throwing candy from 2:15pm - 3pm.  Santa will also be handing out goodies to the children at the clubhouse from 3pm - 4pm.  Please pass this on to your neighbors.

Widewaters Update

Thank you for attending the last Widewaters Community Watch meeting. There was a great turnout thanks to all of you.

Latest updates:

• There was a drug bust in October.
  
• Property damage on Steamboat, Oct 16th.
  
• Drugs on Widewaters, Oct 31st.
  
• Widewaters has been invited to play Bingo this Friday at 8:00 PM at Planters Walk Clubhouse. Cards are $2 each or 6 for $10. Bring a snack.

• Guest Speakers from the Knightdale Police Dept: Acting Chief David Simmons, Sgt. V. Powers, Sgt. T. Lashley, Detective Boryla
• Discussion on Crime in the neighborhood, specifically on gangs/drugs.  We have been hit with graffiti.  Ways to try and eliminate these problems.
• Discussion on Speed Bumps in the community - cut down speeders.
• Council Member James A. Roberson and Robin Flow, Director of About Face will also be speaking.
• Planters Walk invited us to join in their Bingo Night once a month; date will follow.

The Community Watch members are requesting your attendance at this meeting even if you haven't been to one.  It is very important for the community to discuss ways to prevent crime with its law enforcement since they are taking time to talk with us at this meeting.  We need to stick together as a community and listen and act responsibly because these problems are unacceptable in our neighborhood.
